The correct application for smartphones, which can provide instant information about accidents such as location, time, a number of injured people, etc. to emergency services, with a good advertisement, can change this statistic. Today people are often distracted from their surroundings and pay less attention to each other. An innovative solution for this problem may be a developing of an Accident detection System using an android smartphone. It is, basically, the application running on the android phone that continuously reads the data from the sensors and process this data to detect a crash according to the changes in accelerometer and gyroscope readings. If the observed parameters are amount of the limits then the application detects this as a crash and theSh ow MoreRelatedCase Study Of Internet Of Achebe s Fuse Technology s Connected Farm Services 3332 Words à |à 14 Pagesof Things, Smart Agriculture vision is analyzed in this case study. CountryManager explores the modes of market entry, segmentation, and targeting, and the 4Ps in an international context. This simulation provides valuable experience for marketing students who wish to explore the launch of a product into a new country. We now have two scenarios available for two different regions, Latin America or Asia: Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. Asia: China, India, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, and Thailand. Students will take the role of Country Manager for their company, specifically marketing their companys toothpaste brand in these countries. They will encounter international, regional and local competitors, and through research and strategy, determine the best course of action to establish a presence in these markets. The Case Students compete either in groups of 2-4 students or individually in this benchmark simulation. They compete with 4 computerized competitors (both regional and national competitors). The U. S. rket has matured and Latin America (or Asia depending upon which region you choose ) has been identified as having the best potential for future growth by senior management. Yes, if you really analyze the messages in both novels, Nolis intention was to state the problem while Fills was to present the possible solutions. I thought Rizal did not write Fili Just to fan further the flame caused by Noli but to tell the Filipinos he different alternatives to their problems and what he thought was the best solution: non-violence. 1. Style. The opening scene in Noli, the grand welcome party in Capitan Tiagos house mirrors the condition of the country right away. On the other hand, the upper and lower decks in MN Tabo shows the marked difference between the social strata in the country particularly the Spaniards (peninsulares, insulares, mestizos) and the lowly indios. As per as the manner of writing, i. e. , long or short, simple or complex, sentences, rushed or leisurely pacing, they are the same. -rte SCORE: 0-0 2. Tone. Noli is social while Fili is political. Noli still has a heart because it has this passionate love story between Ibarra and Maria Clara. Fili is mostly about revenge and debates which mean it has more brain than heart. So, this depends in the readers preference. I thought that I enjoyedNoli more. Noli over Fili SCORE: 1-0 3. Mood. Noli is confused yet still hopeful. Angst is still underneath. Fillis altogether hatred from page 1 until the last chapter except in the last scene. There are more scenes in Noli where I was mesmerized by Rizals use of beautiful prose putting natural color on his settings. There are still some in Fili but they were overshadowed by the strong hatred emotions from the characters. SCORE: 2-0 4. Diction. Rizal used his characters to express his thoughts. There are these debates or long conversations that while reading, you will get the feeling that Rizal is discussing his views with you. In Noli, there are only 2: Ibarra and Pilisopo Tasyo is one and the debate about the town fiesta as the other. Fili on the other hand, has a lot more: Isagani vs Ginoong Pasta, Macaraig vs Don Cammaro, the friars and government officials in Los Banos, Placido Penitente vs his professor, Isagani vs Padre Fernandez and even the last scene with Simon and Padre Florentino. Wonderful debates. Fili over Noli SCORE: 2-1 5. Point of View. Both employ an omniscient narrator but there is a part in Fili when Rizal used stream-of-consciousness. This is the part when Simoun heard about the death of Maria Clara. What an effective way of expressing Rizals sadness and I could not help but wonder if this was how he felt when Leonor Rivera got married to a foreigner. SCORE: 2-2 6. Narrative Presence. The attitude of the omniscient narrator is more accommodating and patient in Fili rather than in Noli. For example, in the Noche Buena scene in Noli, the narrator used the readers sympathy over the limping Basilio chasing the crazy Sisa and he forgot to describe the setting. In Fili with Basilio after 13 years, I was in awe reading the beautiful description of the forest while Basilio was remembering the first Noche Buena. Narrative Attitude. Despite those beautiful descriptions of the settings in Fill, it is more direct and straightforward. Although the message is sometimes diluted by the many options presented, Rizal was able to tie the loose ends in the very last chapter during the whole-day conversation between Simoun and Padre Florentino. Also, the dialogues are more brutal like in the scene with the talking head or sphinx. SCORE: 2-4 8. Time Frame. Noli starts with Ibarras homecoming after staying in Europe for 7 years. Fili starts witn Simouns appearance atter disappearing as Ibarra atter 1 years. Ibarra is hopeful that he will be able to bring change by putting up a school with his love for his country as the reason. He was able to learn this from his trips abroad including his stay in Spain. However, the 13 years in Cuba was, for me, not enough for Simoun to gather all those treasures that he claimed to have even come rom Marie Antoinette and the pyramids in Egypt. It Just sounded not too plausible.. Time Management. Noli starts at the end of October to December 24 (Christmas Eve). Fili on Christmas Eve to after Holy Week or after the school year. Less than 2 months for Rizal to tell the tale of a small town of San Diego but he needed more than that to tell the events in the city. I thought he used his time frames quite well in both. SCORE: still at 3-4 10. Place. If Calamba were the basis for San Diego, the Binondo and San Diego locations in Noli seems to be more realistic. The Laguna de Bay-Manila-pasig River- Tiyani-Binondo then finally to a provincial place with a plateau and the plateau is right in front of a deep sea is Just a bit of a stretch. How could the weak and wounded Simoun travel to a far-flung provincial place of Padre Florentino? Some say that the basis of this place was Atimonan, Quezon and it is a 4-hour drive from Manila. But for a horse-drawn carriage during the Spanish times? And Simoun was still able to confess to the priest for 1 whole day! SCORE: 4-4 11. Motif. The letters are the recurring images in Noli and there was not a single letter in Fill. Rather, in Fili the recurring images are the treasures and the lights. The letters in Noli denotes secrecy or inner ghosts. They signify the hidden emotional turmoil of Rizal and the Filipinos. The treasures in Fili means evil not all the glitters are gold and the lights, e. g. the stars that were in the sky guiding Basilio, the lights reflected on the surface of Laguna de Bay and the lamplight that could have killed all the rich and famous in Manila, signify hope. Rizal was really wonderful in using his motifs. SCORE: still at 4-4 12. Theme. Overall, Noli is positive: hope, love, beautiful memories, parties, town iesta, picnic by the riverbank, groundbreaki ng for a school, many books, knowledge, etc. On the other hand, again overall, Fili is negative: hate, revenge, death, rape in the open, persecution, students leaving the university, scary stage shows, protests, son killing his own kin, etc SCORE: 5-4 13. Irony. Since there is no prevailing emotion in Noli, the use of irony in that novel is more effective. Who would forget the Christmas Eve when Basilio was chasing Sisa, his lunatic mother? There were also scenes in Filiwhen this was nicely used like when Simoun went to the house of Kabesang Tales and lured him to commit rebellion by howing him the treasures. However, we already knew Simouns intent even at the onset so it was not as effective as those last scene in Noli. The one of Carolino and Tandang Selo was anti-climatic in my opinion. SCORE: 6-4 14. Rythmn. Narrative rhythm is greatly influence by the theme in these two books. I enjoyed the deployment of words better in Noli for example the old-fashioned but kilig dialogues between Ibarra and Maria Clara when they were in the azotea. The many long debates in Fili were at times so convoluted that they tend to go around in circles (not to mention non-sense characters mouthing nonsense statements) that here are parts when they were boring and pointless. SCORE: 7-4 15. Pace. I thought that this was won by Fili by a mile.

The Formation of The United Nations Regional Organizations
Question: Describe about The Formation of The United Nations for Regional Organizations. Answer: The Formation of the United Nations Among several memorable episodes of the 20th century, the formation of the United Nations was one of the most important events that changed the course of history for the world. For the modern world of today, the United Nations is an embodiment of world peace and hope. United Nations serves as the platform for international security, global cooperation, discussions and dialogues and an avenue to give response to the security threats with collective measures. Up keeping of peace, international justice, growth in global economy, maintains of human rights and over all development of the human race of the entire world are some of the objectives of the United Nations. Around the world it takes global peacekeeping missions to fulfill the desired aim of global peace. After the devastations brought in the world by the two world wars and failure of the ineffective international bodies like the League of Nations, in 1945 the United Nations was founded to rectify the human follies and to bring s ome respite to the wounded mankind. At the end of the World War II, on 24th October 1945 was formed so that the world does not see such wars again (Weiss, 2011). The United Nations Organization has the objective to establish a synergy between different nations. Till now, it has been able to achieve its goals and objectives. However, there is a scope of improvement and there is certainly more that could be added to the roles and responsibilities of UNO. The history behind the formation of the United Nations is as remarkable as the role it has played until now and the visions it has for the future of our world. United Nations was formed on the basis of several prior alliances, which came before it to serve the common global purposes. At several times in history such international treaties have been made to deal with the current crisis or to come up with stringency plans for a situation. However, United Nations was formed with the vision of an ongoing international body that would come forward to deal with any crisis faced by the world-. The concept of this intergovernmental body was founded on the 17th century unit of the State, whose records are found in the history where many European countries came together in 1648 to end the Hundred Years War by the Treaty of Westphalia (Ginsburg, 2010). When the formation of statehoods started the Sates used the means of bilateral diplomacy as a mean to communicate with each other in case of any conflicts. This procedure saw a major change by the 19th century, when the multidimensional conferences on huge scales became new trend for the purpose of setting grounds for dialogue among Sates. In order to respond to the vast destructions caused by the Napoleonic Wars, four historically important conferences that happened in the period from 1815 to 1822. The Congress of Vienna was first such conference, which aimed to establish peace by the way of agreement among parties to stop violent events in the future. In the 19th century the conferences played major role in achieving the common international purposes (Nicolson, 2000). The Concert of Europe was one such example where the leaders of various European Nations came together around 30 times in more than one hundred years to solve serious international issues (Elrod, 1976). The major focus of this conference was security while at the same time River commissions emerged with an objective of controlling river navigation on the Danube and Rhine rivers. Likewise, the Universal Postal Union and the International Telegraphic Union were formed to take care of the growing request for intercommunication. With more people migrating and mingling because of increased trading, the spread of diseases such as cholera became major world concern. This issue commissioned six international conferences during the period of 1851 and 1903. The years 1899 and 1907 saw two major global conferences at The Hague, Netherlands for the purpose of peace. These confer ences saw involvement of non-European nations for the first time and also broke the dominion of strong nations making everyone equal and reducing significance of the great power nomenclature which began with the Concert. Although these historical conferences were not able to formalize a permanent organization, nevertheless they play important role in putting the foundation for recognized multidimensional discussion procedure. This was main motivation, which saw the creation of the Permanent Court of International Justice and the League of Nations subsequent of the Great War. While analyzing the formation of the United Nations, the formation of the League of Nations cannot be overlooked. With the World War I, the Concert of Europe came to an end. Though the end of the War saw beginning of two concepts, which gave birth to the League of Nations. The League of Nations combined the Concerts status of great authority supervisory commission and The Hagues concept of egalitarian universality. Soon the Council of League emerged as the executive committee, which granted perpetual positions to five major powers. The Assembly and Council, replicating the egalitarian model of The Hague perception, allowed identical voting privileges to every League member. The formation of League not merely amalgamated the two previous philosophies but further additional level was included by way of founding a perpetual Secretariat and planning systematic periodic assemblies to promote institutionalization of the collaboration, which was originated by precursors like the conferences , river commissions, and public unions. But, the League trial met several grave hindrances and the World War II made it completely redundant (Goodrich, 1947). During the years of the World War II, the people who still had faith in the idea brought in by the League were the President of the United States Franklin Roosevelt and the Secretary of State Cordell Hull. In this wartime Roosevelt coached his State Department workforce to reconstruct an outline grounded on the principles of the League. However, Roosevelt wanted this new organization to not merely give dialogues and consultation but also have teeth or the enforcement powers so that it can effectively stop violence. There was need of new organizational strategies to incorporate the executive council, plenary assembly along with the new concept of enforcement powers. The idea of this wartime alliance was picked by Roosevelt from the example of wartime association of great powers of Britain, China, the Soviet Union, and the US. The October 1943, the Moscow Declaration set the foundation stone where Roosevelt and Hull prudently arranged an arrangement amongst the foreign ministers of four to countries to ensure persistent assistance from them in the wartime. This was proposed to be accomplished by formation of an association whose main goal was preservation of global peace. This was an important move since these four major powers were looked forward to provide the military force to the organization to develop its enforcement powers. Also, concord of the complete Council was to be evaded. It was necessary that the decisions of the Council were obligatory on all the organization members in order to guarantee the firmness of the enforcement warning. The role of the United States was central in taking the initiation for formation of this new envisioned organization. The democratic characteristics of the US influenced the development of the theoretical evolution fundamental to the structure and phrasing of the Charter. Despite being the forerunner the membership of the United States was dependent on the approval of the Senate, therefore Roosevelt worked on to convey to the Senate through dialogues in a special committee which was led by Democratic Senator Tom Connally and Republican Senator Arthur Vandenberg so that he gets required support for his plan of a multidimensional perpetual organization. Roosevelt not only wooed the two political parties of America but also convinced his people along with coordinating his proposal on a worldwide platform with the key supremacies. Roosevelt called Dumbarton Oaks meeting for major world powers, after completion of initial planning for the new global organization (Hilderbrand, 2001). Following this meeting another was held after a few months at Yalta to resolve the matters left uncompleted at the Dumbarton Oaks meeting. In Yalta the level of heads of State, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met beginning February 4 to February 11, 1945. The word peace loving nations was given definition at the Yalta as those countries, which by March 1, 1945 affirmed war on the Axis powers. The question of membership was fundamentally fixed along with other matters were the veto, trusteeship and the capability of the General Assembly which were resolved at Yalta (Rusell, 1958). Further amendments were completed in the Dumbarton Oaks proposal subsequent to the Yalta meetings. This corrected manuscript was then circulated to the countries that were requested to meet in San Francisco in order to write the final Charter. Though, in February and March, the Latin Americans held the Inter-American Conference on the Problems of Peace and War, preliminary meeting in Chapultepec, Mexico. They came up with demands of for a sturdier General Assembly, universality of membership, and guaranteed representation for Latin America on the Security Council (Arend, 1996). UNO is often accused that the formation of UNO is just a hygiene step that the developed nations like USA has taken. In fact, the formulation of UNO was dependent on the inputs of developed nations. Finally, at the Conference at San Francisco the structure and language of the Charter for the new organization was settled. The name the United Nations was given to denote the united stand of the countries against the Axis powers. Along with the prime role of the United Nations as the organization to maintain global peace other issues that reached consensus in this meeting were membership in the organization, trusteeship, capability of the General Assembly and Security Council, the character of the Security Council and the authority of its members, use of the veto, the role of the Secretary-General and the outline for the use of power by the United Nations. 50 members then signed this Charter of the United Nations on June 26, 1945 at San Francisco and later Poland. Thus the total of initial members of the United Nations were 51. Ratification of the charter was individually done by all the nations and finally the United States Senate approved the Charter by vote of 89 to 2, on July 28, 1945. Truman ratified the final Charter by signing the ratification act. A majority of the initial fifty-one signatories was reached by October 24th, 1945, thus making October 24th as the birthday of the United Nations. By 27th December it was ratified by all initial members (The founding of the United Nations international cooperation as an evolutionary process, no date). Which began with merely 51 member states, today the United Nations has 193 strong members. United Nations has its headquarters in Manhattan, New York City with major offices located in Nairobi, Geneva and Vienna. The member states of the association sponsor it by voluntary and assessed aids. Along with its primary purposes of embracing the need of upholding global peace and security it works in direction to encourage human rights, protect the environment, nurture social and economic growth and provide humanitarian support in cases of natural disaster like floods, famine or situation of armed battles. The beacon of the world peace and progress of mankind is in the hands of United States. It is expected that there would be more changes in the structure of the United Nations with the change in the world economy. With the above discussion it can be said that the United Nations has had few major and tangible impacts on the developed and developing nations. One of the positive impacts of the formation of UN is the improvement of political conditions across the world. The United Nations has provided a platform where different nations can interact and solve the issues politically and this has ultimately reduced the chances of wars between the nations. For example, United Nations has a key role to act as intermediary where India and Pakistan can talk and resolve the Kashmir issue. The formation of United Nations also had positive impact on the social attributes and society at large. With the establishment of United Nations, governments of different nations have been successful to create a platform where the bridge between the rich and poor could be reduced. In the 20th century the role of UNO has changed and likewise the impact of UN has also changed. For example, today, the UN has an important role to play in the climatic conditions. By the middle of the 20th century, it was becoming clear that human action had significantly increased the production of these gases, and the process of global warming was accelerating. The common man and the society looks at the UN to establish a platform where different nations can have a similar energy and climate policy. It is expected that UN would have a framework in place that would foster sustainable development across various geographies and it would ultimately have a positive impact on society. It can be said that the United Nations is at the forefront to save the planet. The organization has conducted various international summits to ensure that the problem of climate change and global warming could be minimized. The United Nations has been acting as the central bridge for the communication acro ss different nations. This has eventually, increased the collective productivity of nations to fight with the issue of global warming, climate change and sustainable development and these issues are required to be resolved so that the society at large could be benefited. Five research questions: How has United Nations bridged the social gap between the nations? What is the role of United Nations to resolve the global political conditions? Does UNO have a role to manage the global economic crises? How can government of different nations use UNO as a platform to bring social justice? How is the role of UNO different for developed nations and developing nations? References Arend, A.C., 1996. Women, Work And Public Policy Essay Example For Students
Women, Work And Public Policy Essay Gender and the market are both concepts that carry tremendous power to shape society. Indeed, these institutions are so powerful within society that they can seem invisible and immutable. Each of these influential constructs has become the lens through which a theoretical approach defines and analyzes the world: feminist theory centering on gender, and economic theory centering on the market. Such a primary focus enables each theory to function as an invaluable tool in clarifying complex interactions. On the flip side, however, such a lens can also obscure the ability to enlarge understanding beyond that initial analysis. In this way, the strength of focus can become a weakness, setting one analytical approach as exclusively paramount, and inherently discrediting other approaches. This has often been the case with the disparate economic and feminist approaches to analyzing work and gender. A synthesis of the economic and feminist approaches, however, would provide a more complex, app licable, and efficient tool than the confrontational stance that often pervades discussion. The synthesis process would begin with realizing that, although both theories are extremely valuable methods of achieving an understanding of work, gender and society, neither theory provides a complete picture. Indeed, the very fact that they are such powerful tools, with defined focuses, makes it very difficult for each paradigm to comprehend and incorporate insights foreign to its bias. Such an effective synthesis would emphasize how the focus and methodology of these two stances can be complimentary, and result in the development of a more comprehensive, flexible analytical approach. We will write a custom essay on Women, Work And Public Policy specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The economic approach to society, including gender and work, focuses on the workings of an invisible hand which guides forces of supply and demand within a market constructed of aggregates. In this approach, human beings operate by a set of rational rules that are predictable, graphable, and individual. Using these behaviors, economic man weighs the opportunity costs involved in economic choices and makes decisions at the margin to maximize benefits. Deductive reasoning and empirical knowledge comprises the methodology used to explain the interactions of these market forces. Within this purely theoretical world, economics appears to hold no biases that would influence its approach to labor or gender, because it impersonally uses formal models to simply emphasize how wages influence the forces of supply and demand. Economics, however, was not designed to exist as a theoretical construct. Instead, this approach applies the lens of the market to view the intricacies of everyday life as a never-ending cycle of supply and demand interactions. This invaluable approach does demystify the causal relationships between a myriad of interconnecting labor decisions and interactions, thereby allowing people to understand reoccurring patterns and apply this knowledge to the future. The practical application of economics also, however, demonstrates that this paradigm itself does not always provide a complete picture, and therefore skews the approachs ability to efficiently analyze many aspects of how work and gender interact. Built into the theory itself is the conviction that the market forces of supply and demand are the determining forces within interactions, and that human beings consistently behave as though this was true. Although other factors, such as gender, are taken into consideration, they can only influence the primary forces and therefore occupy, at best, second place standing. This mindset is demonstrated repeatedly on every graph drawn to represent the market. Feminist theory also utilizes a dominant paradigm to interpret the millions of interactions that are constantly taking place in society. Through the lens of gender, this approach describes work and gender as value-laden social constructions with the power to define and determine the unequal power dynamics that shape lives. Within this approach no analytical inputs are neutral, impersonal, or unconnected. People are constrained by a hierarchical system that uses gender as a primary method to rank everyone according to levels of power, independence, dominance, and entitlement. Heavily relying on historical and contemporary experiences of gender and work, feminist theory details the patterns behind the construction of these institutional forces in an attempt to thoroughly analyze their power and pervasiveness. Feminist methodology uses inductive reasoning to blend these experiences into a societal definition that is often related in very personal or overtly value-laden terms. .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 , .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .postImageUrl , .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 , .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:hover , .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:visited , .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:active { border:0!important; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:active , .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5 .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u4790403bb6a264f3e35ed11d7a405ba5:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Koran and Women1 EssayBy applying the lens of gender to society, feminist theory does illuminate often disregarded patterns and outcomes of societal gender roles. These significant insights play a unique role in analyzing the development of work in society. The bias inherent in this approach, however, is that the personal is societal, and therefore a deep understanding of the personal experience of gender, and other social constructs, are the most important components when studying how gender and work interrelate in society. Other forces in society, such as the very real influence of the market forces, are often disregarded as simply constructs of the dominant hierarchy th at distract from a feminist analysis of these issues. A synthesis, therefore, would set the lenses of gender and the market as equally valuable tools in analyzing the way that gender and work shape society. Such a blending would place the market squarely in the midst of an often unrational world, realizing that theories of an unfettered market are only ideals. This new approach would also require that gender analysis not only acknowledges, but also incorporates, an awareness of the omnipresent, integral role that market forces play in shaping society. Economic man would no longer be seen as completely gender neutral, rational, or individualistic, but would still maintain a desire to maximize the benefits of the situation. A strong incorporation of gender into cost-benefit analysis would result in a greater understanding of the costs, benefits, and constraints of each opportunity, and provide for more complete marginal analyses. This approach would reflect the interconnected nature of societal forces, while still using the powerful, analytical tools of supply and demand to quantitatively demonstrate patterns. Effective deductive strategies designed to identify how wages drive the labor market would be augmented by unique inductive insights into the societal patterns behind wage development. The integration of inductive and deductive reasoning, and of empirical and experience-based knowledge would enhance the depth of analysis possible. A clearer understanding of the need for government involvement would be reached as broader definitions of market failure combined with a new appreciation for market solutions. Although the concepts of gender and the market are heavily entrenched at every level, this does not preclude the ability to influence how these institutions continue to shape society. In order to do this most effectively; however, policy makers need to utilize the most complete understanding of how gender and the market interrelate. This comprehension cannot be reached by setting the economic and feminist approaches in opposition to each other. Instead, the development of a new approach offers the possibility of policy, which can most efficiently and equitably achieve common goals.

Death is a fate Essays
Death is a fate Essays Death is a fate Essay Death is a fate Essay Death is a fate. You cant change or alter it. But the views of the two poets John Donne and James Shirley are completely opposite. James Shirley believes that death is the end and is finality. His works are similar to that of the poet Francis Beaumont. These two men conclude that death is the ultimate stage of mortality. Yet the writer John Donne believes that when he dies, he will be taken to a better place, which is heaven. This is called reincarnation. The poet Dylan Thomas agrees with Donne and both poets share a similar view. Their mode of thought is reflected throughout their poetry. The poet John Donne lived from 1573-1631. Maybe the views on death in his poetry resonated from he death of his wife while giving birth to his stillborn baby. The death of Anne Moore gave him the insight that there would be an extra eternal life in Elysium, heaven, to reward her. Even though being brought up as a Catholic he changed and converted to the Anglican faith in the year 1598. It was after his marriage that he decides to become and Anglican priest. This occurrence in his life happened in the year 1615. The morality and belief of his religion is the most likely explanation for his view on existence, death and posterity. Obsessed with the idea of death, Donne had a portrait painted of himself dressed in his burial shroud, a memento mori (reminder of death), which he had placed so he could see it as he lay on his deathbed.A poet whose viewpoint that death is not omnipotent is John Donne you can see this in his poem Death. The central theme of the poem is discussing death and its all-powerful qualities, or more likely death has no omnipotent attribute. The predominant emotion that the poem expresses is that of anger. Also the concept of sadness protrudes. This sadness is almost like sympathy. When he says,DEATH, be not proud, though some have called thee. There is an indication of audacity and courage in the way he speaks with loud out bursts, short sentences and the language he uses.John Donne is personifying death through out the whole poem. Donne is literally scolding death to his face. Death, be not proud. He is standing up to death. He knows through his religion and other aspects of belief that dying is not the end. Death is not as daunting as made out to be. He takes the viewpoint that he will be reincarnated in heaven after death.Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so.When rebuking death Donne is saying that how little power death actually has. When he saysDie not, poor death; nor yet canst thouKill me.Donne here is saying that death, you cant kill me. The people you kill have not died. In other words Donne is saying that even if someone is victim to death his or her works and memories will still live on. Death is an instrument. There is no need to be fearful of it. Death only exists in our world because of the people and the evil and pernicious poisons and weapons they make.Thourt slave to fate, chance, kings and despe rate menAnd dost with poison, war and sickness dwell.Chance and fate play role in the killing of people, not just the desperate men and kings. It takes a king to call an execution and a desperate man to raise a knife. So Donne unlike the other poet James Shirley believes that death will come by chance and not necessarily when he chooses.Another difference is the belief in heaven and another, better eternal world. One short sleep past we wake eternally,And death shall be no more: Death, thou shalt die! When saying a short sleep past Donne means that he will sleep for a short period. This is a minute amount for the vast time in heaven. Death shall not exist in heaven; he shall die because no deaths can be taken. At the end like a judge condemning a prisoner he bravely and boldly he sentences death to die.The other poet with an opposite view of the corresponding topic is James Shirley an English dramatist and poet, born in London. He lived from 1596-1666. After attending the Merchant Ta ilors School and then Cambridge. He was brought up as an Anglican but he was then converted to Roman Catholicism and abandoned what might have been a career in the church for school teaching at St. Albans Grammar School. In 1624 however, he gave up his head-master position, and took up his residence at Grays Inn, London, although there is no evidence that he ever actually became a lawyer. You can see his ideas toward death in the poem Death the leveller. The main thesis of the poem is on death and the end of all consciousness. It gives a message that death is all-powerful. It doesnt matter who you are what rank or position you hold death; sooner or later death is going to claim you.The initial emotion the poem expresses, is that of desperation and hopelessness. It makes you feel weak and timid against deaths all-powerful features. This very unlike John Donne, who stands up to death and gives you a feeling of confidence. Death, be not proud.AndMighty and dreadful, for thou art not so. The choice of words and the things Donne says, give you confidence and the feeling that death is inferior to you. But then Shirley further states; There is no armour against fate.At the beginning he launches straight into this point. Shirley is saying that death is fate and you can not prevent it from happening.Death lay his icy hand on kings:Sceptre and CrownMust tumble down,And in the dust be equal madeWith the poor crooked scythe and spade. The end of this verse is basically saying that even if a king in all his might and splendour has to die, then let it be. All his riches the Sceptre, Crown and other prosperity will be diminished to the dust. He and his belongings are worth no more. They have been made equal to the poor crooked scythe and spade.Early or lateThey stoop to fate,And must give up there murmuring breath. So in other words your age and youth does not matter to death. If you are to die and rot, death will take you.In the poem he is making you understand that death will b e the mighty one who will decide your fate. Then boast no more your mighty deeds!Upon deaths purple altar now. There is no point flaunting before death. It is all to be forgotten. I think the reason of the purple altar was to signify deaths importance. Purple in the 15th century was expensive and rare making it the colour of royalty.Your heads must comeTo the cold tomb:Only the actions of the justSmell sweet and blossom in their dust.At the end the message is that who ever you are, you are finally going to die and must be buried in a tomb where your soul will not live on. People who have made impressions during their life for the good of men will at least be remembered for good, even while dead. When comparing these two poets there are definite and bold differences. John Donne the more religious of the two completing becoming a priest, shows a much more biblical and moral approach, whereas James Shirley takes his view of no after life and makes death seem a tyrant and an oppressor. Don nes biblical belief is recognised in his language and views. Shirley was introduced and brought up in two Christian faiths yet fails to show any sign of belief in death being a beginning of a new life.

Healthcare Informatics - The reassurance of Measles and the World Research Paper
Healthcare Informatics - The reassurance of Measles and the World Health Organization - Research Paper Example Besides, a detailed analysis of the issues in making better decisions especially on the selection, implementation and support of systems by various health organizations and departments would be taken into concern. Moreover, the discussion would also focus on assessing the current strategic procedures of the healthcare institutions for planning and managing informatics projects that ensures to meet clinical, compliance and financial needs of the organizations. Identification of Information Systems Technologies, Processes and Theories Applicable to a Healthcare Problem With reference to the empirical description of World Health Organization (WHO), measles has been identified as one of the highly transmittable viral diseases which affect mostly the children. However, according to the observation made by WHO, there does not lay any specific and appropriate treatment process for combating with measles and most of the patients suffering from this disease generally recover within two or thr ee weeks from its inception (World Health Organization, 2013). ... Moreover, the intervention of Computer Stored Ambulatory Record (COSTAR) system and Regenstrief Medical Record System (RNRS) also enables the physicians towards reassuring the recovery of measles at large. In order to determine the theories applicable to a specific healthcare problem, the integration of Health Evaluation through Logical Processing (HELP) can be regarded as one of the major aspects for the contemporary clinics to effectively address medical problems. The integration of this process enables the institutions to improve medication management along with reducing treatment costs of the clinics and the patients as well (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2002). Analyzing Issues important for Decision Making on the Selection, Implementation, and Support of Systems The selection, implementation and adequate support of systems of healthcare informatics have been recently observed to play a decisive role for different healthcare organizations. The organizations in this present healthcare industry are likely to select and implement the most appropriate technological aspects in order to increase the efficiency and accountability of their range of healthcare facilities. However, the decision making based on the aforesaid important often face various issues that have been analyzed in the following. Issues Important in Making Decisions The selection of appropriate technological features including infrastructure elements and other required tools along with applications in healthcare service often face with various sorts of issues.
